I have used Amarok and gtkpod with my 80GB iPod Video - only to sync
music though.

Amarok seems to be able to download all my tracks but for some reason
the iPod seems to "see" only the first 128 (I think) of them. This
could be because I am using an old-ish version (I am using Ubuntu
6.06.1 LTS) and don't have much time to play about upgrading right
now.

Gtkpod is also an old-ish version but seems to work perfectly. Newer
versions can add cover art and maybe more.

Never tried to sync any podcasts so I can't comment on that.
