Subject: [Hampshire] Edimax wi-fi card
Several people have said have installed these cards easily so as I've
had no luck trying to set up drivers for the D-Link DWL-G650 card, I
decided to get and Edimax card.

I have read through the instructions on pages 8 &9 of the
README.pdf and tried running the install script supplied but
compilation fails with a series of error messages.

it finds /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.4-24-1-686 which matches the
kernel version OK.

first error line is "implicit declaration of function
'SET_MODULE_OWNER' "

and eventually returns "rt61,ko failed to build!"

I am running debian testing on the laptop

what else do I need to do to get this card working? It isn't
essential to get it working today or next week and I can easily wait
until the next Soton LUG meet but it is annoying that it doesn't "just
work" as other people have claimed.

lspci isn't even finding the card although insertion and removal of
the card is recorded in dmesg.
