I tried a corded usb voip phone (a Tesco one) and it wasn't entirely successful. ALSA identified it as a USB sound card and it worked. The keypad was recognised as a keyboard and typed the digits but the LCD display wasn't recognised.

I didn't try to use the device with a phone package other than Skype which didn't recognise it as a handset but could use it as a sound device.

If you can get hold of the usb ID via google or if you know someone with one maybe it can be worked out. Can you buy one and return it if it doesn't work out?

Cheers,
Paul.

It certainly looks it. So what snags do people know about that would make
this a stupid buy for Linux?
