[Hampshire] Authenticating client workstations

Hi,

I have a problem that I was hoping someone could help me with.
Example setup.
Windows Client PCs.
Linux Server.
Is it possible to get the windows client PCs to authenticate logins,
so the the Linux server holds the usernames/passwords etc. and the
Windows Client authenticates the start up login to these
usernames/passwords.
Now, here is the big catch: We cannot use Samba.
