After attempting to post the GLUG recently, several times (adhering to
their rules for posting) these posts were not reaching the list and I
had no explanation as to why - this is why I decided to post to the list
yesterday from a personal address. Based on some of the comments I have
noticed these individuals have made on-list and off-list emailing me
direct I think they are very untoward and exactly the kinda people that
I don't want to work with and wouldn't represent to a client. I think
these groups have a wider audience than the small group of people that
may like to complain about these posts. I don't think that there is any
other recruiter-related posts to these groups either and that is because
I would assume most other guys use job boards and so fourth. I like to
think that I can find very good people from these lists and I'd like to
work with the user groups as much as is possible. Would this list not
prefer to work with a recruiter that embeds itself in the group (is a
linux user, is technically competent etc)?

The posts are no more than 1-2 per month and are formatted in such a way
that people can ether hit delete or open as soon as they see it.
Alternatively perhaps you can just create a filter just as easily?

On some of the other groups I subscribe to I do make non-Job posts...and
in fact am pretty sure I have made at least one to the Hampshire LUG too
relating to Linux media servers and Raid under Linux (SUSE).

Thanks JAMES
