I have acquired a number of computers over the last few years, but I haven't
bought a new one since 2000. Machines with no O/S installed are very
difficult to find, so every one has arrived with a fresh install of a
fairly-recent version of Windows.
Given that a fairly significant proportion of the price of a new machine is
taken up by the so-called 'Windows Tax', I've been wondering how much of
this gets passed on to the new user when a machine is sold second-hand.
Does anyone know anything about this?
