Subject: [Hampshire] Devolo DLAN 200 AV Ethernet over Power
Hi all,

I have a pair of Devolo DLAN 200 AV Ethernet over Power devices, which
have been working flawlessly for a couple of years. The set up is a
simple one:

PC <--> DLAN 1 <--> DLAN 2 <--> Switch <--> Wireless router <--> 'net
                                  |
                             Other devices

Everything is on the same subnet. All was well, all the devices could
talk to each other. A few days ago I added another switch (actually a
spare ADSL router, but I'm only using the switch part and the DHCP
server is turned off) to the network, so it looked like this:

PC <--> Switch <--> DLAN 1 <--> DLAN 2 <-->etc.
         |
        PC

At first everything seemed to work, but the devices on the "DLAN1" end
of the bridge are now losing connectivity to the rest of the network.
Sometimes one of the works and the other doesn't, sometimes both PCs
lose connectivity. The PCs still have the correct IP address information
and can ping each other.

Resetting the DLAN units (at either end, seemingly) solves the issue.
Are there any known limitations with the number of devices these DLAN
units can support on one end? Has anyone used them as a bridge in the
"middle" of a network like this?

Cheers,

Tony
