IIRC the only thing to worry about should be 16-bit original PCMCIA
vs. 32-bit Cardbus, but the latter has been about for more than 6
years. I think it was introduced shortly after PCI.

I found a 16-bit card at Maplin a couple of years ago, when no-one
else seemed to have any (to use in a 486...). Don't know if they still
do them.
