Yes that as well sony are great engineers but dumb in the market place.

Yeah its very good indeed and I use it to dump my vinyl to a convienient player
since i have a few full size minidisc decks.

Hmm not so sure about that I seem to remember reading that sharp devloped there
own version and called it a version number which is why sony started calling
newer versions by letter ie type R and S.
