There are two options for dealing with a ADSL line.
1) plug a microfilter into every BT socket irrespective of whether
they have a ADSL modem plugged in or not, otherwise one gets a watery
type whooshing sound on the phone.
2) Find where the BT line enters the house, and place the microfilter
there, and then plug all extensions into that microfilter, instead of
the main BT socket. This restricts you to plugging the ADSL modem into
only the main BT socket.
Note: (2) is likely to give you better ADSL speeds because it reduces
interference.
