RE: [Hampshire] samba permissions

Would the following be correct for allowing brian full read write access
and leaving permissions intact for the folders owner too?

[private]
path = /home
writable = yes
valid users = brian
browsable = no
comment = Private Directories
create mask = 0664
directory mask = 0775

also, what is the difference between the "public" and 2browsable"
option?
