tomtom comes in two parts. The tomtom device and tomtom home that runs
on a windows machine.
tomtom home is used to upgrade the device, new maps etc.
tomtom home can be run in wine, but it does not see the tomtom device.
Until will wine works well enough to see the tomtom device, you will
have to have a windows box about to do any upgrades to the tomtom
device. I believe wine is close to working, but it does not yet work.
The problem is related to registry keys being populated when a
removable USB device appears. Without the registry keys, the tomtom
home app does not see the removable usb device.
