Simplest approach - take them to Jamie's. If you
want them physically destroyed, they'll be handed
over to a recycling company with the necessary
grinding machines to turn the drives into small
pellets.

Drilling a few holes in an aluminium platter is
easy enough, but is likely to cause a glass one to
shatter. A sufficiently-financed opponent would
also be able to recover data from the areas you
hadn't damaged.
