Emulation software like Qemu and VMWare support using ISOs to emulate a
CD. This will give you the chance to play with live CDs without a
physical drive. AFAIK there's no way to boot a machine directly from an
ISO, but copying the contents of the ISO to a dedicated partition and
configuring a boot loader manually might work.
