Much as I dislike Linksys kit, I have got a PCI card of theirs working
out of the box with Ubuntu 7.04 (I've not upgraded to Gutsy yet). The
card supports a,b and g standards, so I was quite surprised to get it
working without fuss and with WPA security - which seems to be what is
causing me most hassle with other cards I think, that and lack of time.
The model number is WMP55AG, but I don't know whether they've messed
with chipsets over revisions, which is always something to lookout for!
It doesn't look to be a current model anymore, although you may be able
to spot one arounds somehwere. I belive Cisco are in the process of
dropping the Linksys brand now, so won't me in the consumer market
anymore, and I guess that means they won't be doing network cards
anymore too.
